Selly Park Convent Primary School is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO Registration No. 18/11/13/2057). This means that, as we are registered with the South African Revenue Service, all donations to the school are tax deductible in the hands of donors.
The school is also registered with the Department of Education (EMIS No. 600101952). Selly Park Convent Primary received full accreditation from UMALUSI for a period of 7 years. UMALUSI is the Council appointed by government to maintain quality assurance in education.
Selly Park Convent Primary School was also awarded the PMR Certificate for Leaders and Achievers in the North West Province. The school received numerous awards from PMR including the prestigious Diamond Arrow Award for being placed first overall in the category Best Private Schools, North West Province.
Sr Fiona Vallance, a Sister of St Paul, is the representative of the Catholic School’s Trust on the Board of Governors. Mr Richard Pilkington, an appointee of the Catholic School’s Trust, is the Chairperson of the Board of Governors. This Board is made up of Trust, parent, educator and community representatives.
Mrs Gwen Vickers was appointed Principal of Selly Park Convent Primary School in October 2006. The School Management Team is headed by Mrs Vickers and consists of the Deputy Principal, and four departmental heads.
The school accepts learners from the Catholic, as well as the wider community. Learners participate in all aspects of school life : academic, cultural, religious, social and sport. Acceptance pre-supposes having received and signed the School Rules and Contract of Payment.
A detailed Policy for Admission of Learners is available upon request. Emphasis is placed on the holistic education of the child, and the relationship between school, church and home is a vital one.
Information on current school fees is available upon request. Limited financial aid for emergency assistance is available to current learners at the discretion of the Board of Governors.
A variety of support services are offered to learners of the school.
